Students Talk

“Peter is an inspiration as a teacher, actor, and director. He has instilled in us his deep respect and knowledge of the art of acting, whilst nurturing, encouraging and demanding nothing but the best from us all.
Through Peter I have taken risks I never dreamed possible” Catherine Stevenson class of 99

“I look back and see a teacher who has given me the ability to reach deep into myself to pull out a dozen different characters. I find him full of ideas and he’s able to get me to do things I never thought
I could do” Karim Shaker class of 98

Our Philosophy

To continually challenge students to achieve the best they’re capable of. To do that we must be absolutely open to new and challenging ideas. We strongly believe that narrow and inflexible social
values are a barrier to achieving this because they preclude students from experiencing change and ‘difference’ which is at the heart of every theatrical experience, they therefore have no place in our
course environment. We hope to provide an oasis of freedom where students are able to explore themselves and be ready for personal growth in the context of the performing arts. While we highly
value tradition we must also continue to explore and innovate to achieve to achieve new and exiting modes of expression. In summary, we want our students to aspire to excellence and join us in a
journey of exploration and discovery.

Course description and outline

Performing, stage, and ensemble skills will be foremost in the course. We believe in the total development of the actor and our courses are geared to the real needs of the actor.
Additionally we believe that aspiring actors should receive a solid introduction to stage acting which we believe is indispensable for a successful career in both film and television.
Our course is an excellent first step in honing skills for the budding actor. During the year there are a number of courses available from beginner to advanced students catering for
every stage of the actors’ development. Most courses involve some study outside class contact time. Courses are structured to give every student the opportunity to stretch the
limits of their creativity.
